  • It's storm season. When you know a storm is nearing, you should always unplug the phone line and power cord running to the back of your computer. You should also have a Surge Protector on your computer electrical outlet. For DSL customers, it is also very important that you unplug the power cord and phone line to your DSL modem. By taking these simple steps, you can save a lot of time and money.

If your phone service is not working after a storm, you should unplug each phone for a minute and see if that brings service back. In most cases, this will resolve the problem.
